Welcome to my
portfolio blog! My name is Jaclyn Kondrk, and I am a graduate from the Department of Natural
Science and Mathematics at the Richard Stockton College of New Jersey with a
Bachelor’s of Science in Environmental Science. Prior to my studies at
Stockton College, I received my Associate’s degree in General
Studies from Atlantic Cape Community College (ACCC).
I grew up on the Great Egg Harbor Bay and I've always enjoyed the outdoors. I love hiking, kayaking, tennis, and surfing. As the former president of the Student Environmental Association at ACCC, I was very involved with the environment and my community. I coordinated multiple volunteer events and collaborated with many organizations such as the New Jersey Audubon Society, Clean Ocean Action, and the Atlantic County Utilities Authority (ACUA). As a team, we completed many beach clean ups and got the community involved through Earth Day activities.
At Stockton College, I continued serving the community and the environment alongside the Student Action Volunteers for the Environment. I also volunteered with the Surfrider Foundation to help plan a potential plastic bag ban in Brigintine, NJ. I enjoy working with people and
teaching them about the environment through volunteering in
my community.
Upon graduation from Stockton College, I began working for TestAmerica, the leader in environmental services. As an Environmental Field Specialist contracted by the Port Authority of New York and New Jersey, I performed groundwater and soil sampling, air monitoring, and other fieldwork at all Port Authority properties to achieve regulatory compliance. I also assisted in hazardous waste management, including waste profiling and manifests.
I currently work for the Environmental Protection Agency as a Remedial Project Manager for the Superfund Division. I manage a team of experts working together to clean up the most hazardous waste sites in the country. I coordinate EPA efforts with other states and establish close relationships with members of the community near my sites. I also work on a team called the Environmental Education Assistance Project, which puts together educational materials to provide to schools in our region and also visit schools to teach students about the environment and EPA.
